Our Story
Established in 2007 and originally in Smeaton, Victoria, Vale Hill Farm is located in Knockrow in the Newrybar Hinterland of New South Wales. Founded by Chris Malden and Wayne Cross with a vision centered on sustainability and natural livestock care from the outset, British White cattle became a cornerstone of our farming endeavors. Recognizing the breed’s docile temperament, hardiness, and suitability for pasture-based systems, we committed to breeding and raising these rare cattle.
Over the years, we’ve expanded our herd to over 100 head, focusing on both meat production and the sale of genetic materials, including semen and embryos. Our efforts have not only contributed to the preservation of this heritage breed but also provided quality British White genetics to breeders across Australia.
Our Role in the British White Cattle Society of Australia
Vale Hill Farm is an active member of the British White Cattle Society of Australia (BWCSA), an organization dedicated to promoting and preserving the British White breed within the country. Through our membership, we adhere to the society’s standards for breeding and animal welfare, ensuring the integrity and quality of the cattle we produce.
Our collaboration with the BWCSA includes participation in breed promotion, genetic diversity initiatives, and educational outreach, all aimed at supporting the growth and sustainability of British White cattle in Australia.
